Hi, I’m Rod.
I was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and have lived in New York, Florida, northern Italy, Chile, and Argentina.
Travel has become one of my biggest priorities and has shaped how I spend most of my free time.
My love for outdoor travel began after the pandemic and grew while I lived near the Italian Alps. I feel very fortunate to have explored places that had been on my bucket list for years, including Switzerland, Greece, Patagonia, and Italy.
My favorite hike so far is Laguna de los Tres in El Chaltén. The difficult final climb and the view of Mount Fitz Roy made it one of my most rewarding days outdoors.

I created Rod Explores to help more people plan real outdoor adventures.
Before every trip, I spend hours researching trails, transportation, accommodations, maps, and activities.
Then I visit the destination, test the plan, and learn what actually works.Here, I turn those experiences into practical travel guides, itineraries, hiking information, and honest advice.
Expect mountains, camping, beaches, lakes, road trips, boat adventures, and places that reward a little extra effort.My goal is simple: help you spend less time planning and more time exploring.
